Types Of Depression

Just as there are many reasons why depression starts, knowing the types of depression and which one you have will lead to a proper diagnosis and better treatment for you.

There are several forms of depressive disorders. The most common are:

Major depressive disorder

Dysthymia depression or dysthymia


Other forms of the disorder exhibit slightly different characteristics than those described above, or they may develop under unique circumstances. However, not all scientists agree on how to characterize and define these. They include:

Psychotic depression
